Avec la vision de cr\u00e9er un prototype environnemental, la r\u00e9gion visait \u00e0 montrer l&rsquo;exemple en mati\u00e8re de conception durable, particuli\u00e8rement dans le secteur public. Le d\u00e9fi principal \u00e9tait d&rsquo;int\u00e9grer des technologies vertes avanc\u00e9es et des pratiques de construction durable tout en s&rsquo;assurant que l&rsquo;installation r\u00e9ponde aux besoins op\u00e9rationnels d&rsquo;un centre SMU. Le projet cherchait \u00e9galement \u00e0 obtenir un impact environnemental significatif, influen\u00e7ant les futures politiques r\u00e9gionales sur la construction durable.   <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:7px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-gray-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5dd5e0c97fc20d02628cddf0d98a7863\"><strong>R\u00e9ponse<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;installation SMU est devenue le premier b\u00e2timent certifi\u00e9 LEED Or sous le Conseil du b\u00e2timent vert du Canada au Canada. Elle a int\u00e9gr\u00e9 des panneaux photovolta\u00efques, un chauffage hydronique par le plancher, des ventilateurs de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie, une ventilation par d\u00e9placement, une d\u00e9shumidification par dessiccant et une citerne d&rsquo;eau de pluie. Le projet a d\u00e9tourn\u00e9 plus de 75 % des d\u00e9chets de construction des sites d&rsquo;enfouissement, a utilis\u00e9 plus de 20 % de contenu recycl\u00e9 dans les mat\u00e9riaux et s&rsquo;est approvisionn\u00e9 \u00e0 plus de 30 % r\u00e9gionalement.
