Il \u00e9tait devenu d\u00e9suet et les syst\u00e8mes du b\u00e2timent n\u2019\u00e9taient plus en mesure de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins de la science et de la recherche sophistiqu\u00e9es qu\u2019il servait. La phase 1, achev\u00e9e selon un \u00e9ch\u00e9ancier acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9 dans le cadre du programme FIS, a permis de r\u00e9nover l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de quatre \u00e9tages de laboratoires de chimie, jetant ainsi les bases des futures am\u00e9liorations du syst\u00e8me du b\u00e2timent. Les am\u00e9nagements novateurs ont reconfigur\u00e9 l\u2019espace pour cr\u00e9er un espace de laboratoire flexible et modulaire, des zones de collaboration et des zones de travail administratives. La phase 2 a port\u00e9 sur la r\u00e9novation des espaces communs de l\u2019aile ouest, en rempla\u00e7ant les services dans les corridors, les cages m\u00e9caniques et les locaux m\u00e9caniques. Le penthouse m\u00e9canique de l\u2019aile ouest a fait l\u2019objet d\u2019une r\u00e9novation compl\u00e8te et toutes les unit\u00e9s de CVC ont \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9es. Le syst\u00e8me \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 haut rendement am\u00e9lior\u00e9 facilite l\u2019exploitation, l\u2019entretien et la flexibilit\u00e9. Une future phase 3 comprendra la r\u00e9novation de l\u2019aile de physique est, une \u00e9tape finale dans la r\u00e9novation compl\u00e8te du b\u00e2timent.      <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-gray-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fd65f131da99671b20615d3f062f4c88\"><strong>Durabilit\u00e9<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019Universit\u00e9 a des objectifs ambitieux de r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions de GES, mais les environnements de laboratoire sont r\u00e9put\u00e9s pour leur consommation d\u2019\u00e9nergie. En tant que r\u00e9novation int\u00e9rieure, l\u2019accent a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis sur la modernisation des syst\u00e8mes afin de r\u00e9duire la demande \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique. La conception comprend l\u2019une des plus importantes installations de nouvelles hottes \u00e0 d\u00e9bit variable \u00e0 faible d\u00e9bit (40 pi\/min) au Canada.
