L&rsquo;objectif \u00e9tait de fournir une proposition pour cr\u00e9er une communaut\u00e9 embl\u00e9matique sur l&rsquo;ancien site industriel riverain. Le terrain vacant de 9 acres devait \u00eatre enti\u00e8rement r\u00e9am\u00e9nag\u00e9 en un quartier diversifi\u00e9 comprenant des connexions pi\u00e9tonnes, des parcs publics, des structures institutionnelles et des espaces r\u00e9sidentiels de moyenne hauteur. Les commodit\u00e9s comprenaient un espace de cr\u00e9ation, un espace propos\u00e9 pour la future Galerie d&rsquo;art de Hamilton, des boutiques, des restaurants, des brasseries et un centre de loisirs. Un corridor vert paysager magnifiquement am\u00e9nag\u00e9, orient\u00e9 est-ouest, se connecte aux sentiers et quartiers existants. Compl\u00e9tant et reliant la sc\u00e8ne culinaire et artistique en pleine croissance de la rue James de Hamilton, Pier 8 invitait les visiteurs \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir des offres gastronomiques de niche et des attractions culturelles uniques, tout en profitant de vues panoramiques sur le front de mer et les espaces verts.
