SUSTAINABILITY DESIGN LEADER USHERS IN NEW ERA OF GROWTH AND INNOVATION
WITH THE ACQUISITION OF EDGE ARCHITECTS
Hamilton, Ontario, November 23, 2023 – mcCallumSather is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Edge Architects. The transaction will be completed on January 1, 2024, and the combined firm will operate under the name of mcCallumSather. Edge Founders Matthew Bolen and Michael Trussell will join mcCallumSather as Managing Principals.
A rising force in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, Edge Architects has a diverse portfolio of multi-residential, commercial, and healthcare buildings. The firm is especially known for its expertise in the design of mass timber structures and prefabricated buildings.

Some of the firm’s notable achievements include the first LEED Gold Certified project under the Canada Green Building Council, the first building in Canada to gain Zero Carbon Building Standard Certification in both design and performance categories, the largest LiveLab of its kind at the McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind, and the only open-access full scale press and manufacturing equipment center at Western University, a first in North America.
