Pinnguaq Maker Space

This two-storey redevelopment will create an educational space, office space, and two 1-dedroom apartments. Located at 1412 Sikituuq Crt in Iqaluit, Nunavut, the new makerspace facility redevelopment will be a structural steel frame skeleton, cladded with wall metal panels as well as wood siding.

The harsh northern Iqaluit weather calls for a high energy efficient design that will incorporate triple pane exterior glazed windows and doors, and possible in-floor heating. The interior of the makerspace will also showcase an exposed CLT finish creating a clean and warm environment all around. mcCallumSather is working closely with client Pinnguaq – Iqaluit Maker Space, and the project team below in to developing the programme and eventual building design.
