Part of Hamilton’s exploding restaurant and microbrewery scene, Shawn & Ed Brewing Co. envisioned an expanded space in their Dundas location that would provide flexible areas for events, workshops and regular in-house dining. We had fun working with the team on the 1,200 SF renovation completed in 2020 involved the development of a new mezzanine area with capacity for 40, relocated the stairs, and enlarged a temporary room into workshop and dynamic event space. Under the mezzanine, we tucked a new kitchenette for its creative menu.

We love these projects, working with ambitious local entrepreneurs and craftsmen from Hamilton. In this case, we especially enjoyed working with the SHED team on their Dundas location, the site of the former Dundas Curling and Skating Rink. The building is already filled with charm and character, our role was to build on this story while creating the means to help SHED continue to expand their offerings.

2020 proved unpredictable. However, we were delighted to see this project complete and to learn Shawn & Ed Brewery has continued to provide creative takeout options from both the Taproom and Kitchen. We highly recommend the beer pies!
