Team Begins New Atrium Design For McMaster University

We are excited to announce mcCallumSather will be working with McMaster University on a new atrium addition to the Psychology Building, adding to the award-winning design we completed in 2014 called the McMaster Institute for Music & The Mind.

We were inspired by the idea of creating an architectural expression of the ground breaking work happening in this remarkable building. It’s work we know well. The McMaster Institute for Music & The Mind, one of the many dynamic spaces within this facility, is the first research performance hall of its kind in the world. Within the LiveLab, researchers study the role of music in our health, emotions, language, cognitive and social abilities.

In addition, our team completed the award-winning design for the Health Science Library, which sits on the opposite corner of our new project. As we look to reinvent the Psychology Building, this timeless design is top of mind, as we look for ways to ensure both additions complement and enhance the other.
