Warren Phillips Receives the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification Professional Designation

mcCallumSather is excited to share that Warren Phillips, Senior Laboratory Design Specialist, has earned his Professional Designation with the Rick Hansen Foundation. 

Professional Designation follows an intensive training program designed to help change the way participants experience the built environment and identify barriers. 

“This designation and what it brings to the table for Accessibility, Inclusion and Innovation is something very near and dear to my heart.  An injury as a teenager changed my perspective regarding accessibility.  Now as an adult with a parent with MS, I am constantly reminded that the concept of Universal Design not only increases access and inclusivity but also provides more longevity and sustainability to environments.  Forward thinking design reduces the need for retrofitting later.  That is what the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification is all about – providing meaningful access for as broad a range of persons as possible,” describes Warren. 

As part of our Science & Research design team, Warren has over 18 years of experience in the development of environments tailored to clients very specific requirements. This professional designation now opens new avenues of consultancy and design as he begins working with clients of all size and scale to help remove barriers and leverage Universal Design principals.
