Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) has officially taken ownership of the new West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH) in Grimsby, following substantial completion on September 5, 2025. With the keys now in hand, HHS will begin final preparations for the hospital’s opening later this fall.
“This project is a major investment in the health of the West Niagara region,” says Bruce Squires, Vice President, Women’s and Children’s Health & site executive, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. “We are deeply grateful to the West Niagara community, all levels of government, and our health and community partners for their support. Together, we have built a new hospital that will serve the region for generations to come.”
Work to open the hospital in approximately 12 weeks will occur in alignment with the Ministry of Health’s post-construction planning process.
“This modern building will give our staff and physicians the space, tools, and technology to continue delivering exceptional care to a growing community,” says Kelly Campbell, Vice President of Corporate Services and Capital Development. “It’s also more conducive to healing, offering space, comfort, and modern amenities to patients and their families during their stay.”
