Core Development Group, 73 Hughson

73 Hughson St. is currently an empty parking lot in the city centre of Hamilton. Core Development Group purchased the property, with the goal of developing a residential mixed-use tower that stood out amongst the many new developments proposed within what has been dubbed Hamilton’s Design District.

The proposal brought before the City’s Design Review Panel includes a 31-storey, 380-unit mixed use tower. At the ground level there will be retail spaces, residential lobby, bike storage and service space. A pass through at this level allows for an extended, accessible public space designed to animate the street level experience. The podium is arranged in two-tiers, creating extended outdoor terraces on both the 7 th and 13 th floors. From levels 13-30, a squarish residential tower rises, culminating in indoor and outdoor amenities at the 31 st floor. There will be four levels of underground parking, with 176 parking spaces.
