Canadian Architect recently profiled 60 Bowden under its feature on evolving places of worship.

The project transforms the historic Danforth Baptist Church into affordable senior housing, carefully balancing the congregation’s vision with the retention of meaningful heritage elements. Reclaimed brick from the site ties the preserved portions of the church together, while new porcelain cladding establishes a contemporary presence within the neighbourhood.

The outcome is a design that respects the church’s historic character while creating much-needed homes – demonstrating how heritage and community needs can come together to shape inclusive, lasting impact.
