New Renderings Released for Biindigen Well-Being Centre

New renderings for the Biindigen Well-Being Centre capture day-in-the-life moments from around the site.

“Biindigen” means Welcome in Anishinaabemowin. That word, that invitation has guided every step of this design. The Centre brings together healthcare, childcare, social services, and 60 units of affordable housing, weaving them into one place of belonging.

Three buildings embrace a central Sacred Fire and gathering space. Their curved forms follow the land and existing paths, creating a village-like setting that feels open, safe, and rooted in community life. The architecture is inseparable from ceremony, language, and intergenerational learning. Spaces for Elders, for storytelling, for drumming, and for children’s play flow seamlessly into gardens and the neighbouring McQuesten Urban Farm.

The Biindigen Well-Being Centre is more than a collection of services. It is a homecoming, a place where Land, culture, and community are braided together into a future of healing and belonging.
