Canadian Interiors Magazine featured The Ballroom Bowl Yorkville, an upscale bowling alley, located in the Yorkville district of Toronto.
The second venue in the city for this brand, which was designed to be a sophisticated take on a traditional bowling alley, contains a wood-feature ceiling with integrated lighting that greets guests upon entry. The project also provides direct connection to Yonge Street and the Yonge/Bloor Subway station.
After descending the escalators, guests are then led into the venue by changing, multi-coloured, light-up signage. The city collage wall graphic, designed by mcCallumSather’s project designer, Henry Dowling, aims to capture Toronto’s vibrancy, and contains several nods to Hamilton, its neighbouring city.
The lounge area offers an open kitchen view and curved cave-like acoustic control while the dining area features both booth and table seating, lighting pendants and a three-sided water vapour fireplace. Beside it sits a bar with concealed TVs, and walnut and brass detailing. The VIP area integrates private bowling lanes, millwork features, leather couch seating, and full-screen TVs.
