Companion Animal Hospital
The Companion Animal Hospital, a teaching hospital for the Ontario Veterinary College on the University of Guelph campus, was outdated. It did not meet barrier free accessible standards and did not match the recently renovated and adjoining Animal Cancer Clinic. Our team led the renovation. It brought the facility up to date and carefully balanced its unique objectives.
The project was thoughtfully phased and as a result, we were able to successfully and seamlessly renovate two adjoining buildings without disrupting operations. We designed a new entrance to match the adjacent cancer centre, created new comfort/euthanasia rooms, incorporated barrier-free upgrades and provided guidance on the millwork and finishes throughout, including its exam rooms. The result is a bright and accessible space that works for the instructors, students, owners and most importantly, its patients.
