Hamilton, ON, March 7, 2024 – mcCallumSather is delighted to announce key advancements within its team, highlighting the company’s commitment to excellence and continuous growth. These advancements reflect the exceptional talent and dedication of the individuals who have played integral roles in the firm’s success.

In a significant move, Michelle Austin, Managing Principal, Operations, has been appointed to the Board of Directors. Michelle has been an integral part of mcCallumSather since its inception in 1996, contributing over three decades of expertise in quality control, quality assurance, field review, and sustainable design. As the Managing Principal, Operations, Michelle has played a pivotal role in overseeing project teams, scheduling, and project delivery. She continues to be actively involved in projects, focusing on education, civic, healthcare, and residential projects. Michelle’s profound knowledge of building technology, sustainable design principles, and mentorship has been instrumental in the firm’s success.

Mary Georgious, previously Senior Associate, Mechanical Lead, has advanced to Principal, Mechanical Lead. Renowned for her project management skills and problem-solving abilities, Mary specializes in science and research-based laboratory design and animal care environments. Her leadership in collaborating as a valued team member on ZCB design and leading her team in developing synergistic, energy efficient building systems is exemplary. Mary has a keen focus on establishing energy budgets, utilizing energy modeling to develop a strong data base through the entire design process and actively participating in an integrated design processes sets Mary apart from her peers and has been invaluable to mcCallumSather and its clients.

Laura Sears, formerly Senior Associate, Marketing Lead, has advanced to Principal, Business Development and Marketing Lead. Leveraging over two decades of experience in journalism and professional services marketing, Laura has been a driving force behind mcCallumSather’s strategic communications and business development efforts. Laura oversees marketing and PR activities, as well as the client development activities of the team’s sector leads. Under her leadership, the firm has earned notable recognition, including a recognition on Maclean’s Magazine Growth 500 list of Fastest Growing Companies in Canada and the 2018 Hamilton Fastest 40 growing companies list.

With a career spanning over 35 years, Liz Gabaldo, previously Associate, Interior Design Lead, has advanced to Senior Associate, Interior Design Lead. Liz’s exceptional talent in crafting beautiful and functional interiors has earned her widespread recognition with specific expertise in the residential and commercial markets and a growing expertise in the institutional sector. Known for her creative problem-solving and tailored precision, Liz creates spaces that uniquely capture the identities of her clients.

David Riley has advanced from Associate to Senior Associate on the mechanical team. David has been with the firm for almost seven years and has demonstrated a remarkable ability to remain calm in all circumstances. He brings this thoughtful focus to bear on all of his projects and is well versed in developing sustainable, efficient and cost-effective mechanical design solutions for a broad range of project typologies inclusive of hi-rise multi-unit residential, commercial, civic and institutional buildings.

Nolan Cipriano is the firm’s newest Associate. Nolan started his employment at mcCallumSather in the spring of 2021, after relocating to Hamilton from Toronto. Nolan brings extensive experience in project management, BIM, and creative design solutions across various sectors with a particular focus in multi-unit residential typologies. His leadership, collaboration, and commitment to continuous improvement have been key to the success of complex projects and has significantly contributed to mcCallumSather’s growing reputation for delivering exceptional and sustainable projects across a broad spectrum of typologies.

Robin Whitteker, previously a Junior Designer, has advanced to the position of Intermediate Designer. With 8 years of combined educational and working experience, Robin has demonstrated a keen understanding of project performance, feasibility, and community engagement. His dedication to the integrated team process and consideration of team dynamics makes him a valuable asset to mcCallumSather.
